As you are acutely aware, the reality in U.S. housing is not pretty: 30% or more of U.S. housing resales in many metropolitan areas represent distressed property sales. Roughly 9 million borrowers remain behind on their payments according to industry data – and the unfortunate fact is that many of these households will not be able to save their homes.

In interviewing them, we also learned that while the default servicing industry has become exceedingly complex, these firms have worked diligently to develop systems, training, procedures, and policies to keep up with the demands of an ever-changing market.
