Bill Brice, founding partner at Brice, Vander Linden & Wernick, was a lifelong Texas-based litigator and represented numerous mortgage servicers and banks during his career. Decades ago, he was asked by a client, Lomas Mortgage, to find a solution to the management and administration of bankruptcy cases and related litigation—and so began the firm’s expansion into broader default services.
Today, BVW relies on over 25 years of experience to provide judicial and non-judicial foreclosure services, bankruptcy representation, REO eviction services, financial services defense litigation, real estate closing services and creditors’ rights representation throughout Texas and California. The firm is approved as part of the Fannie Mae Retained Attorney Network.
Beyond its direct legal services within Texas and California, the law firm is acknowledged as the premier provider of national bankruptcy representation for mortgage and consumer lenders and servicers. BVW understands that the proper management of bankruptcy portfolios requires knowledge, efficiency, accuracy and technology, and the firm has the experience, technology and professional staff to fulfill each requirement.
BVW’s bankruptcy case management model is focused, direct, and organized so that each case receives the proper evaluation and undivided attention that ensures the maximum protection of each client’s investment. Every case in a portfolio undergoes a routine and timely review, analysis, and monitoring so that proper action can be taken. Where warranted, BVW’s attorneys and paralegals work as a team on all Texas and California litigation cases and have extensive experience in all district courts across the state.
Over the years, BVW has developed professional relationships with a highly effective network of local counsel who handle all out-of-state referrals. Whether directly in Texas or California or nationwide, bankruptcy or foreclosure, BVW’s mission remains simple: to provide the highest quality and most cost-efficient legal services to its clients. In order to function in the complex world of default legal services, the firm takes the time to listen to clients and understand their legal issues and concerns. It’s this commitment that allows BVW to develop effective legal strategies that support clients’ business and community service goals.
